IMPRESSIONS FROM `ON TRACES OF SERBIAN ARMY` EXPEDITION

Heading towards the 100 jubilee of First WW, Safari Club from Nis also remembered the soldiers in Great War, the organization of the Expedition that, with the help of Palilula Municipality, started the trip of more than 3,500km on July 28 from Nis, on the day of the beginning of this war and in its own unique way joined the remembering of 100 years of this war. About their impressions of the expedition, areas that were visited by expedition members spoke Vlasta Stanojevic with video and photo presentation, president of this Safari Club.
During the Great War, which took place from 1914 to 1918, and that took so many lives and totally economically devastated Serbia, came to the biggest disaster of Serbian Army and part of Serbian people that over Albania retreated on foot to Greece from where, with fighting in Salonika front, came back to Serbia. In these area of Palilula, on Selicevica mountain, Delijski Vis from October 10 to 12 1914 last big fights took place of First Serbian Army and French Army under the command of general Petar Bojovic for Nis liberation in First WW. From this period in Delijski Vis settlement of Palilula area, military cemetery has been located – today unique Memorial Park where Serbian soldiers from Balkan Wars and First WW were buried and British soldiers who were killed in First World War.
